JAY SMITH, aka Smitty Kingston, has been performing live since the age of 15. Born and raised in Kingston, Ontario, Jay still resides there with his wife, Lauren, and their 2 daughters. He started playing drums at age 6, piano at 9, then finally landing on guitar and singing at age 12. He counts himself lucky that he has been able to call his music his career since the age of 15.

He is a Nashville recording artist who has spent most of his on the road touring. He has had the opportunity to work with some very amazing talent, such as The Tragically Hip, I Mother Earth, Blue Rodeo, Tom Cochrane, Gilby Clarke and Bumblefoot (Guns & Roses), Monster Truck, Paul Brandt, Chase Rice, Jim Cuddy, Bazil Donovan, Kelly Prescott, Chris Koster (The Glorious Sons), Kim Mitchell, David Wilcox, Paul Langlois, Daniel Wesley, Derek Downham and so many others.

In 2018, Jay wrote a song called "Stick Out by the Door (Humboldt Strong)" when he was effected by the tragedy of the Humboldt Broncos bus crash. All profits from this song went towards the Humboldt Broncos team. In 2019, he released a single called Perfect Ten, which reached number 2 on iTunes country charts and stayed in the top 10 for almost 2 weeks.
